Uncle Buddy’s Pulled Pork
1. Rinse whole pork butt (sometimes called Boston butt or pork shoulder) with cold water. Trim off any visible fat.
2. Rub meat thoroughly with Uncle Buddy’s Canadian Gold Dry Rub and place in crock pot.
3. Cook in the crock until the internal temperature of the meat is 195-200 F. This will take about 4-6 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low. If you don’t have a meat thermometer test the done-ness by trying to pull the blade bone from the roast, it will come out easily when done (then go get a meat thermometer).
4. Drain the liquid from the crock pot and pull the meat.
5. Using a skillet on high heat, combine the pulled pork and a generous helping of Uncle Buddy’s Sweet Mango BBQ Sauce and quickly heat the meat to caramelize the sauce.
6. Devour on a Hawaiian sweet roll to complete Uncle Buddy’s favorite sandwich.
Dont have a crock pot? Wrap the roast in foil, place in a roasting pan, and cook in the oven at 250 deg to substitute!
